For Chelly and Mike Davis, their honeymoon may have been delayed by 10 years, but it is going to be one they’ll never forget. A honeymoon in the Turks and Caicos Islands was beyond their wildest dreams. The couple from Bloomingdale, Georgia are the grand prize winners in the West Bay Club “Tell us why you need a trip to West Bay Club” contest.
Their entry was selected from thousands of other very worthwhile mini-essays, and they will enjoy a stay with us here at WBC on the house. In fact, they’ll use the trip celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary, an event they didn’t get to celebrate with a traditional honeymoon back in 2000.
The trip will have added meaning as Mike is recovering from neck surgery and they have recently adopted their 2 year old grandson Maddox, who had infant health issues, into their family (along with 3 kids of their own) – so they both could use some R&R from the stress of that situation.
“I can’t even put into words how excited we are about visiting your resort. I have looked at the pics on the website many many times and have often just wished that we would be able to visit someday. This trip is truly a blessing. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. This is going to be something we will have with us forever,” said Chelly when she got the exciting news.
Thanks to all who entered and check out the new contest we just launched – maybe you could be the next winner of a trip to Turks and Caicos to stay with us at The West Bay Club.
The West Bay Club is very proud to be a sponsor for a special event to be held here in the Turks & Caicos this summer. On July 10 the first annual “Race for the Conch” will be held right in front of Grace Bay Beach. It’s a one-mile eco swim/open water race. Open water swim racing is a sport that is rapidly growing in popularity and in fact will be contested for the first time in the Olympics in 2010.
Race organizers here are looking forward to a great turnout of both expert and novice swimmers. Anyone can enter and part of the proceeds go to charity. It’s a very well organized and professionally run event, complete, with electronic timing and internationally-accredited rules and judges. More information can be found here.
It’s also a great reason to come visit us in Turks and Caicos in July. July is typically is a very calm and sunny time of year for us here, and the beach conditions are superb. Plus, our rates are lower in the summer!
Come take advantage of some of the awesome promotions and rates we have going on in July including an additional 15% discount for bookings for this event (must call 1-649-946-8550 or 1-866-607-4156 to get this discount), and enjoy the Race for the Conch.
We were lucky enough to host Alexis, a writer from Frommer’s Travel Guide recently, and we are so pleased she enjoyed her stay with us! She writes:
We got back from Provo late last night, but I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our stay at the West Bay Club–it’s a wonderful property, in large part because of your hard work. You are such a warm and hospitable host, and the ambiance reflects that. And your modest little restaurant–I must say we were mightily impressed with the food put out by that small kitchen. Thank you so much for your lovely hospitality! We will be back…
The annual Turks and Caicos Kite Flying competition is a great local tradition here in the islands every spring. This year it’s happening on Monday April 5 (Easter Monday, a holiday here in the islands). And best of it all, it happens right next to us at West Bay Club at the Children’s Park – so you can watch all the high flying action right from our beach or your balcony. But your best bet is wander a few steps down to the park and take in all the action.

Yet another one of our happy guests who were sad to wake up in New York City when they left Turks & Caicos…
I wanted to comment on our stay at the West Bay Club from March 18th-23rd. We are so sad to have woken up in New York this morning. The location of our room was perfect for us with 2 small children giving us easy access to the beach and the ground floor safety that we desired. Renee and Cathy at the front desk were beyond hospitable and took care of our every need. It seemed as if they lived at that desk as I never saw otherwise. The beach is beautiful and the staff on the beach were great bringing us towels, water and watermelon, pitching umbrellas into the sand and offering the use of children’s sand toys, 2 kayaks and snorkel gear. We really can’t wait to return.

All the comforts of home - including a fully-stocked kitchen - await you at WBC
One of the nice things about a suite at West Bay Club are the full kitchens featuring top of the line stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, dishwasher, wine fridges and washer/dryer. Aspiring Top Chefs will enjoy using our kitchens and it’s a nice alternative to going out to restaurants every day and night.
An even nicer touch we provide is doing an advance grocery shopping trip for you before you even arrive. Imagine arriving to your room to a fully stocked fridge of all your favorite drinks and snacks, even all you need for your next nights home cooked meal. It’s a great perk for families, too, who want breakfast stuff for the kids ready the next morning – especially if you arrive on the later flight into Providenciales.
Just tell us what you’d like and we’ll make sure it’s stocked in your room before you arrive: Milk, juice, cereal, brad, beer, wine – whatever your desire we can make it happen.
Of course, once you get here, food and beverage shopping for yourself is very convenient, with a large supermarket (IGA) within walking distance, a well-stocked liquor store (The Wine Cellar) just a short drive, and a smaller gourmet grocery store (Graceway Gourmet) in the middle of the Grace Bay shopping area. We can help you find these places and arrange transportation for you.
So when you make you reservation, drop us a line and let us know if we can do a grocery store run for you before you get here. And we’ll leave a light on for you, too.
