In suite internet and complimentary wireless are common amenities that most modern resorts offer. However the download speed separates the modern from the ultra modern.
The West Bay Club recently upgraded to 8Mbps broadband and it became the only resort in Turks and Caicos to benefit of such fast service. 8Mbps Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) connections offer the user a faster, more reliable broadband connection. Using new technology, the service will automatically provide an incredible 160 times faster than a standard dial-up connection and up to 4x faster than 2Mb most common on the island!
The main benefit of a faster broadband is the ability of the connection to maintain greater quality and reliability when running multiple tasks simultaneously such as music and video-streaming, large file download, video-conferencing or sending large email attachments.
‘Thanks to our friends at Lime, the Caribbean’s largest telecommunications company, The West Bay Club is able to offer this superior service to our guests that expect high speed communication and fast download time’ said Dane Underwood managing Director of The West Bay Club.

Dane,
I tried to catch you upon our departure on Saturday April 30th but you were not close by, so I told Renee that I would just send an email to you. I wanted to personally congratulate you and your staff on such a wonderful property and a great vacation experience. My wife and I spent 6 wonderful days at the West Bay Club celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. I am not sure how your staff could have made the experience any more enjoyable. It was a great balance of service and seclusion. When we wanted something it was there. When we wanted to be left alone, we were. Renee and the other staff at the front were great to work with. From dinner reservations to booking excursions for us they were always a pleasure. The beach staff was also top notch. Not just getting us what we needed but also pointing out things that we may not want to miss, like snorkeling on Smith’s Reef. The facilities were also very nice. From the room finishes and furnishings to the external landscaping and the cleanliness of the grounds. I think I saw one piece of trash on the ground all week (It did not stay there long). The only change that my wife would like to see, is a little more comfortable beach chair. More like the ones by the swimming pool. It is a minor thing, but we thought you might like to know. Again, I want to thank you and your staff for a wonderful experience at WBC and we hope to return again. Thank you for your time.

We all know its spring here in TCI when the annual kite contest comes around. April 25th is the big day and The West Bay Club will be ready to compete. Our own James “Billy” Been ( WBC Engineering Manager) has handcrafted a special “H” version kite from all local materials and assembled by hand. Billy is a local native of beautiful Salt Cay where he has mastered the art of kite building taught by generations of islanders. Billy has been building alphabet kites for nearly 40 years and our entry to the kite competition will surely be competitive. We will let you know how we faired in the completion shortly.

One of our West Bay Club owner’s grand daughter, Emma, submitted a piece of her photographic work to the Boston Globe Scholastic Art Exhibit, where this year’s almost 12,000 images were submitted by over 6,000 students . She received a “Silver Key” (2nd place). Her photograph is titled “Orangina” and is a sunset view off the back deck of our own West Bay Club in Turks and Caicos!
Emma will have her piece on exhibit in Boston at the State Transportation Building for almost two months!
Congratulations Emma, we are very excited for you!
